Please join us! Mark Gouws from YMAA Yang’s Martial Arts Association Sandton will be hosting a free Tai Chi Chuan Info Session. All ages and health levels are welcome to join us to experience and learn more about what this profound, little known and understood, holistic art, Tai Chi Chuan is all about and what its many benefits for the mind, body and spirit are.
Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient practice that originated in China. Tai Chi known as “The Mother of Yin Yang” directly translates to “Extreme Ultimate”. Some topics that will be touched on are: How does Tai Chi benefit your health? What is Chi and why is it so important to cultivate and balance your Chi “Bio Electricity” in your body? Chi Kung mediation practice and how and why it’s used in the practice of Tai Chi? How does Tai Chi enhance being mindful? What is “Yin Yang”. How to obtain a centered and still mind and help grow your awareness of self by differentiating between your “Monkey” emotional mind and your “Wisdom “ Yi mind.
I’ll touch on the five Golden Points of Tai Chi practice: Breath, Body, Mind , Chi and Spirit. Tai Chi Chuan (Fist) as a traditional martial art and what does that mean, with a few basic applications demonstrated?
